What is a Jump-start Session??
At the start of every organize and
declutter project*, we begin by tackling a couple small projects to jump-start the
process.
This involves blitzing areas of visible clutter and overflow, while dealing with the areas that are causing the most anxiety for the client. Tackling these problem areas first gives us the opportunity to discuss how the client wants to approach the project to get the process going.
The client is in complete control of what areas get attention.
*Extreme hoarding scenarios require waste and junk removal prior to the Jump-start Session.

What if I don't like making lists??
Some clients are list makers by nature and others prefer to just discuss what needs to be done and let us handle the details.
Don't let the fact that you don't have a formal list stop you from starting the process.
We can keep track of the details and your list of to dos to tackle to keep the process more relaxed for you.
We follow your lead.

What if I don't know where to start, and feel overwhelmed and anxious about the prospect of going through my things??
Our organize sessions are paced in 2-hour
increments for less stressful management of each task.
With a mindful approach to decluttering spaces,we do not insist that you get rid of anything that you are not ready to get rid of, and items that give you particular difficulty will be given careful attention.
We consult you on all items to be sorted and cleared from the premises.

Put systems in place and go from Cluttered to Calmer
Rock,Pebble,Sand--Streamline Your Email System by using Filters,Smart Folders,etc..
Just because its in the IN BOX doesn't mean it should get the
highest priority.
Get The Subject Line Right
Be concise and informative. Your Subject Line should provide a summary of your email's contents.
Quick,Fast,Delete!
By replying to spam or by unsubscribing, you are confirming that your
email address is 'live'. Confirming this will only generate even
more
spam. Therefore, just hit the delete button or use email
software to remove
spam automatically.
To Delete or Not to Delete!
Certain documents must be retained for legal purposes. So before you go email purge crazy, consult your IT department about the company's rules for retaining records and its procedures for protecting electronic data.

How long will my project take to complete??
That depends on the approach you take with the declutter-organize process.
We are as efficient as possible, acting as
coach, assistant, facilitator and friend
during what can sometimes be a difficult and
stressful process.
We take your lead. Our objective is to provide mindful
assistance during the
sort/purge process to keep things on
track as well as bring fresh insights and ideas to the organize process.
You direct the team that will work with you and on your behalf to
create new spaces. Give us an entire month* and see major changes to
your spaces.

I have stacks of clutter!! How will you assist me??
On our first consultation, we discuss what your expectations are for your spaces
We discuss the priority areas to tackle and consult with all involved if necessary (the kids too !!)
We sort, box, and label items to store,
donate, sell, etc.
We provide light housekeeping services to expedite the declutter process. If necessary we will bring in a professional cleaning crew at the close of the project.
Lastly, we provide a design consultation for the improved spaces.

What kinds of organizing systems
will you recommend for my spaces ??
As we assist clients declutter and organize their spaces, we experiment with solutions for each client's particular needs. In doing so, we seek out items that we otherwise would not have chosen.
In the end, we provide a fresh and sometimes whimsical solution for the client that fits their unique style.
Whether purchasing new items, re-purposing used items or choosing not to purchase anything at all ,we are always open to finding creative
systems for every unique set of circumstances.
Our main goal is to provide the smartest solution for each client. If it works for the client, it works for us.

I am having difficulty seeing beyond
all the clutter. How can you help me
envision a new beautiful space??
It can be difficult to envision a new space, because your train of thought about the current space may 'derail' the process a bit by leading you off on one tangent after another, creating overall anxiety.
...Will[xyz]have a home in my new space? If yes, Where will[xyz] fit? If no, What should I do with[xyz]?and How can I part with[xyz]?? Should I sell,dispose or donate[xyz],and to whom??..
But don't get discouraged. Its important to think of this portion of the process as the start of the dismantle process, not the design and organize process.
There will be plenty of time to make decisions about x,y,...& z.
We must dismantle (cleanup) the old space, before we build the new one.
With the declutter process we roll up our sleeves and work to improve the space. It is messy and often dirty/draining work,--the main project within the entire project-- but necessary.
We are not afraid of the process, because every area we
address is an incremental move toward your new space. Trust us,
progress is being made. In the short term, the clutter may feel
overwhelming because you have to face the worst of it, perhaps for the
first time.
But we are familiar with this stage of the process and will be present through it.
We pace the session (2 hours max) with mindful advice and minimal instruction to keep you alert and focused.
We help you to get beyond the dust and the clutter to envision the end result.
So Breathe. Pace yourself. And remember slow and steady wins the race.

*Extreme hoarding cases that require additional services such as major donation & junk removal involve special consultations throughout the de-clutter/organize sessions with the client. We require a one (1) month lead-time for this portion of the work and a deposit for the additional labor and cleaning equipment to handle such projects.The client must authorize and designate all work to be completed.
